SNOW!!!

While sitting on my patio today, sipping coffee and enjoying the balmy weather, I found it hard to believe that just two weeks ago, I was with my family in Colorado. It definitely wasn't balmy there.

OK, well it wasn't quite this cold...

or this.

But it was cold enough to make snow angels...

and ride snow mobiles...

...or a dog sled.

Ritz- Carlton Club Aspen Highlands Aspen, Colorado
While our lodge was nice, it wasn't quite this fancy.

How pretty is this covered walkway?

Look at that view! (wait...what happened to the snow?)

What a comfy chair to snuggle down in with a good book and a hot toddy chocolate.

Love this chair from Etsy.  It looks like a hand-knitted cable sweater.

Stalking Ralph Lauren…this is his ranch in Colorado.

Great kitchen.  I'm not usually a fan of dark-stained woodwork, but I think it's perfect in this setting.

Wowza!  What a stairway.

Love this bedroom, especially the pooch.

cozy...

You wouldn't want to have had one too many glasses of Chardonnay before attempting to climb into this bed.

So chic...

I love my red RL boots.  No slipping on the ice in these babies.

I have an obsession with snow globes and spotted a few really neat ones in some of the gift shops in Breckenridge.

However, nothing compared to the following:

In case you haven't visited The Polohouse blog here, you're in for a huge treat.  Alison lives in a vintage polo barn and stables that were converted into an incredible house.  She is a girl after my own heart with her love of tartan, transferware and horsey gadgets.   When I saw her snow globe, I was mesmerized.  The little buildings even have lights…how clever is that?    If I'm ever in the Chicago area, I'm heading straight to her store, Blue Cardinal Antiques here.

Last year when it snowed, Bitsy almost disappeared!  She was one cold dog, but she loved it.  She just couldn't figure out what all that white stuff was. It even snows in Dallas every once in a while.

So that's my snow story.  Most images via Pinterest.com here.  Thanks for stopping by.
